December 21, 2024, 84, Pink Hill —
September 24, 1940 – December 21, 2024
Lorraine Ham Sasser, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Lorraine was born in Lenoir County to the late Joseph Cleveland Ham and Rosa Lee Barrow Ham on September 24, 1940. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters.
Utilizing her natural talents with crafting, Lorraine excelled at every craft she tried. She was excellent at crocheting and could take anything apart and reinvent or repurpose it. Always looking for the good in something, she was able to take what most would consider nothing and make something unique.
Lorraine’s primary goal in life was the well-being of her family. An exceptional cook, she was known to fry the best fish and chicken, and everything that came from her kitchen was worth a second helping. She loved each of her family members dearly and took pride in her role as Mama, Grandma, and Granny.
Spending time with her sisters, Lorraine looked forward to outings where they could browse for the best deals and spend much time together. She attended Turner’s Chapel Church where she connected with many in the congregation.
The family will honor Lorraine’s life in a private setting.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Rose Davis-Williams and husband, Wayne; son, Glen Davis, and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Crystal Conner, Chasity Davis, and Joshua Davis; great-granddaughter, McKayleigh Rivera (known to her Granny as “Cupcake”); along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
