Susie Marie Ward, 76, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, after a long and courageous battle due to many health issues. Susie was born on October 28, 1948, in Craven County.

Susie was a valued employee at Cherry Hospital where she worked for 20 years as a word processor and was a member of The Church of Christ in Goldsboro. Susie loved the Lord and was a bright light and beacon for Jesus and all in need. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and caring person.

Susie is survived by her daughter, Angela Carte,r and husband, Jerry; her grandchildren, Amanda and Billy Cuddington, Amber and Ben Wilburn, Justin and Sara Carter; her great-grandchildren, Russell, Waylon, Ava, Charlotte, Rory, Branson and Wyatt, whom she cherished and loved spending time with; her two sisters and her three brothers; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Sherwood Ray Ward.

A graveside service to honor Susie’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Princeton Cemetery with Pastor Robert Goff officiating.

Services have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home.
