Wayne County Animal Shelter Offers Fee-Waived Adoptions Through December 31

Wayne County, NC – The Wayne County Animal Shelter is still home to many cats and dogs seeking their forever families, and now through December 31, all adoption fees have been waived. This holiday promotion offers residents a perfect opportunity to adopt a furry companion at no cost.

Those interested in adopting are encouraged to visit the shelter’s website at www.waynegov.com/pets to view available animals. The site is updated regularly with photos and detailed information to help potential adopters find the right pet before visiting the shelter.

The shelter’s hours are as follows:

  • Monday through Friday: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Walk-ins close at 4:00 p.m.)
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Walk-ins close at 12:00 p.m.)

“We’ve got a lot of great animals waiting for a home, and we hope this event makes it easier for folks to adopt,” said Graham Price, Animal Control Director. “If you’re thinking about getting a pet, come visit us. You might find your new best friend.”

All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before going to their new homes. If a pet has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, the shelter will hold the animal until the procedure is completed, with the fee waiver still applying.

Celebrate the season of giving by adopting a pet and making this holiday special for your family and a shelter animal.

For more information, visit www.waynegov.com/pets or contact the shelter at (919) 731-1439 ext. 1 or [email protected].
