“I am honored that the people of Wayne County elected me as Superior Court Judge and I will do my very best to fairly and impartially administer justice,” said Judge Strickland.

In 1991, he enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard and, after an honorable discharge, moved to North Carolina to work in ranching and farming. He met his wife, Jennifer, at a rodeo competition, and they married in 1998. Together, they have four children: Billy III, Jack, Isaac, and Alexandria.

Judge Strickland’s academic journey began at Wayne Community College, followed by Campbell University, where he graduated in 2000. He earned his law degree from Regent University, working various jobs to support his education. His legal career commenced as a law clerk for Judge John Tyson, who remains a significant influence in his life.

In 2008, after returning to Goldsboro, Judge Strickland established Strickland Law. Initially balancing farming and teaching as an adjunct professor at Mount Olive College, he built the firm into a premier law practice in Eastern North Carolina, now comprising seven attorneys across multiple offices.

Beyond his professional achievements, Judge Strickland is deeply involved in the community, supporting organizations such as the Wayne Crisis Pregnancy Center, Ashford’s Gym, 3HC Hospice, and other local programs. He also supports pro bono legal services to juveniles, sharing his life story to inspire others.

An avid outdoorsman and lifetime NRA member, Judge Strickland participates in organizations like Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, and Quail Forever. Despite his accomplishments, he remains connected to his roots, often working on his family’s farm and attending livestock auctions.
