November 18, 1964 – December 27, 2024
Denise Quinn Wiggins, 60, passed away at her home on Friday, December 27, 2024. Denise was born in Wayne County to Dolly Mozingo Moore and the late Delmus Wade Quinn on November 18, 1964.
From early in life, it was obvious that Denise had three great loves: her family, her pets, and the beach. Always her mother’s best friend, the two enjoyed great times together through the years, from trips to the coast to day-to-day activities that were equally as precious. Married to John Wiggins for 32 years, they created a life of love and loyalty where they raised their son, John in a loving home.
Throughout her time working with Wayne Community College, Denise created and maintained many lasting friendships. She was easy to talk to, easy to love, and was most happy when surrounded by friends and family. Known as friend, wife, daughter, and mother, one of her most prized names was “Mimi” which she gained with the birth of her grandson, Reese. Time spent with him made for wonderful days.
A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In addition to her mother, Denise is survived by her husband of 32 years, John William Wiggins, Jr.; son, John William Wiggins, III and wife, Cheley; grandson, Reese Elliott Wiggins; brother, Wade Quinn and wife, Marcie; niece, Emma Quinn; many aunts, uncles, and extended family; along with a soon to arrive grandchild.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Health for their care of Denise and compassion for the family during Denise’s last days.
