Wayne County, NC – The United Way of Wayne County (UWWC) is set to celebrate a monumental milestone—its 100th anniversary—dedicating a century to strengthening the community and improving lives. To commemorate this special occasion, UWWC will host a series of events throughout 2025, starting with a Ribbon Cutting and Centennial Kickoff Celebration at its new location, 309 N. William St. in Goldsboro, NC. The event will take place on January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Since its inception in 1925, UWWC has been a cornerstone of service and support in Wayne County, building partnerships and launching programs to address critical community needs. This year, UWWC will not only reflect on its century of service but also take a bold step into the future with a new strategic focus.

In 2025, United Way of Wayne County will begin a three-year Issue Focus Transformation. This initiative will address poverty-driven issues by tackling their root causes directly, ensuring a more focused and impactful approach to improving the lives of Wayne County residents. The shift will enhance UWWC’s ability to direct resources and efforts where they are needed most, creating lasting and meaningful change for the community.
