Wayne County Under Winter Weather Advisory Beginning Friday Afternoon

A winter weather advisory for Wayne County is scheduled to go into effect at 1 p.m. on Friday as winter weather is expected to make its way to the area on Friday evening and continue into Saturday morning.

As of Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Raleigh had issued a winter weather advisory for Wayne County from 1 p.m. on Friday, until 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Johnston and Wilson Counties will be under a winter storm warning during the same hours.

According to the National Weather Service, rain, snow, and freezing rain are expected to arrive in Wayne County on Friday night and continue into early Saturday morning. Snow and freezing rain totals are expected to be less than half an inch.
