Sandra Ginn Parks, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family. Sandra was born in Wayne County to the late Jasper and Aileen Ginn on October 15, 1941. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bill Parks.
Sandra had been a valuable employee of Wayne Memorial Hospital for 23 years and Cherry Hospital for 18 years.
Life for Sandra was deeply rooted in care and concern for her family. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was an ultimate joy. Known as “Nanny” to the grandchildren, she looked forward to every opportunity to be with them.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held by the graveside at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in Wayne Memorial Park.
Sandra is survived by her son, Stephen William Parks of Patetown; daughters, Pamela Parks Creech of Patetown and Scarlet Parks Campbell and husband, Steve of Wilmington; brother, Shelton Ginn of Pikeville; grandchildren, Avery Creech and wife, Alex, Haley Creech, and Mary Ryan Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Georgia Creech and June Creech.
