The City of Goldsboro Commission on Community Relations and Development is hosting its annual celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at Deeper Life Church Ministries, located at 900 11th St.

This event is free and open to the public.

Judge Carolyn J. Thompson will serve as the keynote speaker.

Thompson was appointed to the N.C. Court of Appeals in 2023 and served through 2024.

“Dr. King inspired generations to fight for justice, equality, and understanding,” said Carole Battle, chairperson of the Commission on Community Relations and Development. “This event serves as a reminder of his enduring message and encourages us all to reflect on how we can contribute to his vision of a better society.”
