Kenneth Robert Castania, 82, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Ken was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana to the late Robert and Myrtle Castania on January 23, 1942. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Robert Castania, Jr.; brother, Alvin Castania; and sisters, Annie Mae Mott and Lou Ella Hebert.

Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked with electronics maintenance throughout his life and retired from the State of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro. A service celebrating Ken’s life will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Bill Rose, Rev. Jim Whitfield, and his nephews, Rev. Bobby Forehand and Dr. James Goff officiating. A private interment will be held later at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Ken is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Carolyn Forehand Castania; daughter, Mary Kathryn Castania and husband, Paul Vaillancourt; daughter-in-law, Marsha Castania; grandchildren, Sarah Castania, Kenneth Robert Castania, III and Timothy Castania; and great-grandchildren, Jonas Ligi and Ramona Urban.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Ken’s memory to Cry Freedom, P.O. Box 1235, Goldsboro, NC 27533 or to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
