Mar-Mac, Grantham Fire Departments Respond to Fire Outside Mobile Home

On Wednesday afternoon, the Mar-Mac Fire Department was dispatched with Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department, and the Grantham Volunteer Fire Department automatic aid to a grass fire threatening a structure in the 400 block of Linen Lane.

Mar-Mac Car 1 arrived on the scene at 1525 hours.

Car 1 reported a grass fire with one double-wide mobile home and an outbuilding on fire.

Car 1 established Linen Lane Command. Mar-Mac Squad 15 arrived at 1525 hours and started a fire attack on the grass fire and the double-wide mobile home.

Mar-Mac Engine 7 and Engine 6 arrived on the scene at 1527 hours and started a fire attack on the outbuilding and the woods behind the homes.

Thoroughfare and Grantham units assisted with fire attack and water supply.

The fire was called under control at 1532 hours. Wayne County EMS 707 (Supervisor) arrived and was assigned as the rehab officer.

The NC Forestry Service, Wayne County OES, and Wayne County Code Enforcement were also called to assist.

The double-wide mobile home had exterior damage only.

No fire extended to the inside of the structure.

The outbuilding did have heavy damage.
