United Way of Wayne County Receives Investment From Duke Energy

The United Way of Wayne County has received a generous investment of $15,000 from Duke Energy in support of the United for Community Assistance Network (UCAN) program.

This funding will help strengthen UCAN’s ability to connect individuals and families in Wayne County with critical resources and services.

The UCAN program, a direct service initiative operated by United Way of Wayne County, was established with initial support from a Duke Energy Foundation grant in the fall of 2023.

Since its launch, UCAN has grown into a vital resource, providing support to individuals in need by linking them with essential services such as housing, healthcare, food assistance, and transportation.

“The continued investment from Duke Energy underscores their commitment to empowering communities and enhancing the quality of life for residents in Wayne County,” said Sherry Archibald, Executive Director of United Way of Wayne County. “With their support, UCAN has been able to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that those in need have access to the resources necessary to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.”

Through UCAN, United Way of Wayne County acts as a central point of contact for individuals seeking assistance, fostering collaboration among local agencies and service providers. The program aims to remove barriers to access and streamline the process of obtaining vital support.

Thanks to the City of Goldsboro and Wayne County Chamber of Commerce for attending and celebrating in the presentation.
