Glenda Smith Martikke, 79, passed away on Monday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Glenda was born in Wayne County to the late J. B. and Ruby Vinson Smith on June 28, 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie Smith and Randy Smith.

Glenda was a valued employee of Walnut Creek Country Club where she served as the Director of Sales and Catering for over 25 years.

Glenda was always easy to talk to and quick to befriend. Possessing a great sense of humor, her personality was large and her will was strong. Ever willing to share her opinion, she was a determined woman who worked hard to hold a successful career, care for her family, and live a happy life.

A private graveside service for the family was held in Wayne Memorial Park.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Guillemette and husband, Steve; son, Joseph Martikke; grandchildren, Andrew Guillemette, Joseph Guillemette and Colby Rivenbark (whom she loved as a grandchild). She is also survived by her long-time friends, Mildred Worrell and Coonie Rivenbark; and the father of her children, Walter J. Martikke.

Services are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
