On Feb. 7, members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ViPR Team conducted a traffic stop for a Chapter 20 Violation at the intersection of Denmark St and E Elm St.

During the stop, it was determined that D’Mequise Lamont Britt, 33, Snow Hill, had active warrants out of Wayne County.

Britt was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Magistrate’s office.

Britt was found to be in possession of a controlled substance on jail premises.

Britt was charged with possession of a controlled substance on jail premises.
