Due to winter weather in the forecast, all Wayne County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Ken Derksen, the Executive Director for Community Engagement and Student & Family Support, for Wayne County Public Schools, sent out an email on Tuesday that read:

Due to anticipated freezing rain and ice forecast for our area, all schools will be closed for students and staff, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19.

WCPS is closely monitoring the weather forecasts for our area and will remain in close communications with local emergency management officials throughout this weather event. You can find the latest district announcements at waynecountyschools.org.
