GFD Responds to Structure Fire on Wednesday

On Tuesday at 2:33 p.m., Goldsboro Fire Department units responded to a structure fire at 159 Carriage Road after a resident of the home had returned to find the home on fire and called 911.

Units arrived at 2:33 p.m. to find heavy smoke emitting from the residence.

Five fire apparatus responded with 19 personnel. Firefighters initiated an interior fire attack, ventilated and performed a search of the residence. The fire was under control at 3:02 p.m.

The Goldsboro Police Department and Wayne County EMS also responded to the incident.

Seventy percent of the structure was damaged, dollar estimations have not been determined, and the fire is currently being investigated by the Goldsboro Fire Department.

Three residents were displaced and are being assisted by the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
