February 8, 2025, 71, Goldsboro —

Ronald Thompson, Goldsboro, NC, son of Arnold and Hilda Thompson, was born April 28, 1953, in Sampson County, North Carolina, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2025 with the love of his life by his side. At the time of his passing, he was 71 years of age.

Ronald was a loyal husband, loving brother, proud father, and devoted and born again Christian. In 2008, he was united in marriage to his soul mate, Kallen Thompson.

From a young age, Ronald found the same love of the outdoors as his daddy and enjoyed fishing off of Surf City Pier and hunting. He was an avid bird watcher and never turned down a good cigar. He had a special way with animals and always had his number one girl, Chloe, by his side. Ronald was a baseball enthusiast and lifelong Atlanta Braves fan. Most of all, he cherished his family deeply.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Arnold and Hilda Thompson.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Kallen Holmes Thompson; his daughter, Brooks Saylor and husband, Brooks; son, Trevor Thompson; sister, Tonya Green and husband, Byron; brother, Craig Thompson and wife, Renee; Kallen’s son, Scott King and

wife, Brandi; grandchildren, Chase King, Raven King and Adison King; and great-grandson, Brantley King. He is also survived by his nephews, Bryan Flink, Adam Flink, Zachary Flink, Ryan Thompson and Brent Thompson; and his dear K-9 friend, Chloe.

The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Duke Liver and GI Clinic, Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, UNC Health Wayne Infusion Therapy department, and UNC Primary Care of Goldsboro for the care and love that was shown to Ronald during his illness.

Ronald’s wishes were to be laid to rest privately. His family encourages those who loved him to memorialize him in meaningful ways. Share pictures, stories, memories, and spend time in the great outdoors that Ronald loved so much.
