Deborah “Debbie” Worley Gill, 68, of Princeton passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Deborah was born on January 14, 1957 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Russell Glenn Worley and Ethel Medlin Worley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Worley and sister-in-law, Frances Worley.

Debbie’s love for her church, which was very important to her and where she served in many capacities including, Sunday School Teacher, church custodian, women in the church and served as the choir director for many years.  She loved cooking and enjoyed sharing meals with everyone.  She had a passion for teaching children with special needs.  After her relationship with God, her love for her children, grandchildren and family was the most important to her.

She is survived by her son, John Gill and wife, Bonnie of Princeton; daughter, Angela Ward of Princeton; brothers, Stephen Worley of Princeton, and Bryant Worley of Kenly; sister, Terry Mercer and husband, Elton of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Bambi Creech; grandchildren, Breonna Ward, Jazmyne Ward, Russell Gill, Angel Jacobs, and Isiah Jacobs.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton.

The funeral will be held after the visitation on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations with the Reverend Shawn Willis officiating.  The committal will be held on Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Eason Family Cemetery, off Progressive Church Road in Princeton.
