Virginia Ann Price

Virginia Ann Price

February 28, 2025, 83, La Grange —

July 20, 1941 – February 28, 2025

Virginia Ann Price departed this life for her Heavenly Home on Friday, February 28, 2025. Virginia was born in Wake County to the late Waverly and Sudie Coleman on July 20, 1941. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wildon Price; son, Mark Carde; sister, Mary Elizabeth Coleman; brothers, Marvin Holt (Doris) Coleman, Sr. and Billy (Wanita) Coleman; and brother-in-law, Glenn Ayscue.

Virginia graduated from Epson High School in 1959. She was in the Beta Club, received the DAR Citizenship Award, and was class Valedictorian. She went to Lenoir Community College in 1978. Virginia worked with Lenoir County Schools for 10 years and volunteered at the Lenoir County Mental Health Drug Awareness Program. She worked, together with her husband, at Price’s Sheet Rock Service for over six years as their office manager.

Virginia’s greatest achievements in life were being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all her grandchildren. Brittany had a special place in Virginia and Wildon’s heart. She was with them all the time growing up. Then came Victoria, and she also spent lots of quality time with Grandma and Grandaddy. Brittany was the little girl they never had and needed.

Virginia was a kind and beautiful person that was quiet, strong, and inspiring to others. She brought joy through her smile and gentle touch. Virginia would cook coconut pies for the church and pound cakes for her family. She loved her family, but she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all. He always came first in her life. She served her Lord and lived out her faith in the ministries at Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston, NC.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Kinston.

Virginia is survived by her children, Kim Stroud (Larry) and Kevin Price (Dawanna); grandchildren, Steven, Joshua (Meaghan), Taylor (Zack), Timothy (Desiree), Brittany Landing, Heather Shea, Kristi (Jeff), Jayda, Brittany (Jonathan), Victoria (Robert), and Kayli; 15 great-grandchildren; a special sister, Barbara Jean; and life-long friend, Lou Jones.
