Wayne County is one of 31 counties across North Carolina under a tornado watch until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch on Wednesday as potentially damaging storms are expected to move across Central North Carolina.
According to the National Weather Service, Central North Carolina is at a Level 3 Risk for severe weather between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Johnston, Wilson, and Sampson Counties are also under a tornado watch.
Rain and potentially severe thunderstorms are in the forecast for Wednesday, along with wind gusts that could reach up to 45 miles per hour.
