Peggy Joyce Gay Rose, 84, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 4, 2025 while in the comfort of her home. Peggy was born in Nash County to the late Thomas Preston Gay and Rachel Elizabeth Tedder Gay on November 8, 1940. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Rose.
Peggy was a valued employee of Standard Products before her retirement.
Dedicated to her family, Peggy took great concern with the well-being of them all. She kept in close contact with her siblings, children, and extended family and always made sure they knew she was thinking of them. With a great love for the Lord, she worshiped with the congregation of The Bridge in Princeton when she was able.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 in the Pikeville Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Don Sauls officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Cindy Barnes, Angie Jones and husband, Ronnie, and Christy Rose; son, Ricky Joe Rose; sisters, Virgie Davis, Carolyn Love, Patsy Rigsbee, and Linda Weaver; brothers, Thomas Preston and Ray Preston, grandchildren, Brandon Lassiter (Sara), Keith Barnes, Heather Barnes (Santonio), Michael Rose, Brittany Baker (Tyler) and Candice Rose; and great-grandchildren, Adreanna, Santonio Jr., Adrian, Maison and Indie. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, Lee Ann Julian (Matt), Dana Sauls (Tray), and Ronnie Jones and their families.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
