On Thursday at approximately 3:06 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1700 block of Royall Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located Martin Stewart, 38, Goldsboro, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Stewart was transported by EMS to UNC Health Wayne and is currently listed in stable but serious condition.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
