Edward Earl Raper departed this walk of life Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Wilson Healthcare and Rehabilitation at the age of 83.

A private service will be held for the family.

Mr. Raper was born in Wayne County on May 18, 1941 to the late William Arthur and Lucille Barnes Raper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Raper; his brothers, David Raper, Van Raper, Timmie Raper, J.W. Raper and Kenneth Raper and his sister, Phyllis Monteith.

He is survived by his son, Alex Raper and wife, Laura of Fremont; two daughters, Selena Beaman and husband, Greg of Wilson and Donna Raper of Fremont; one brother, Steve Raper; two sisters, Deborah Lawson and Lottie Raper; five grandchildren, Kasey Heath, Brian Godwin and wife, Jessica, Allie Raper, Emilee Raper and Lilly Raper and his great-grandchildren, Gavin Godwin and Ansley Godwin.

Services entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
