On Feb. 28 at approximately 5:22 p.m. the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 1809 N. Berkeley Boulevard for reports of gunfire and a shooting.
Officers located a male victim, identified as Quandre Weeks, who was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second victim, Icshon Zaquan Jones, later arrived UNC Health Wayne by personal vehicle with gunshot wounds.
Jones was airlifted to ECU Medical Center for further treatment.
Jones condition was listed as critical.
The incident stemmed from an altercation between the two victims.
This was an isolated incident between the two victims and there is no current threat to the public.
Investigations and the Crime Scene Unit was contacted and responded.
As a result of the investigation, warrants were secured on Icshon Zaquan Jones for an open count of murder and one count possession of a firearm by felon.
The warrants were served on Tuesday.
Jones was also served on outstanding warrants for one count attempted first degree murder and one count possession of a firearm by felon for a previous incident.
Jones was held on no bond for the open count of murder and a combined $1,520,000 secure bond for the other charges.
His first appearance is scheduled for Apr. 8.
