Rev. Tony Jasper McLamb

March 10, 2025, 76, Goldsboro —

Rev. Tony Jasper McLamb, 76, peacefully transitioned to his Heavenly home on Monday, March 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wayne County on May 13, 1948, he was the son of the late Jasper and Rose Capps McLamb.

Tony is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce McLamb; daughters, Tracey Bowling and husband, David of Wisconsin and Melissa McCullen and husband, Earl of Goldsboro; son, Matthew McLamb and wife, Sara; sister, Debbie Pennell and husband, Tommy of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Hayden Amodeo and wife, Destiny, Reid Amodeo, MacKenzie Amodeo, Brandon McCullen, Avery McLamb, Clara Jane McLamb, and Sara Bowling; and great-grandchildren, Daisy and Honey. Tony was also anticipating the arrival of his third great-grandchild, Moses. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for those around him.

Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His life was a testament to faith, hard work, and a love for family and community.

Tony spent his career serving others, first as a service technician with BellSouth, later working with Delmus’ Hardware, and most importantly, as a dedicated pastor to many local churches. Receiving the call to ministry in 1981, Tony served at Daly’s Chapel OFWB Church in La Grange, Walnut Creek OFWB Church in La Grange, and Casey’s Chapel OFWB Church in Goldsboro. Tony’s kind heart, steady wisdom, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew him.

Beyond his work, Tony found joy in the simple things—tending to his vegetable garden, restoring and admiring Farmall tractors, and sharing his passion for vintage farming as a proud member of Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club. His love for the land reflected his patient and nurturing spirit, qualities that made him a beloved presence in his family’s life.

Though he has left this earth, his legacy of faith, love, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Crank and Pastor Hayden Amodeo officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Seymour Funeral Home.
