Gail Davis Langley of Kenly, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born December 30, 1946, in Robeson County, Gail spent most of her childhood in Goldsboro, NC. She is preceded in death her parents Helen and Harry Davis, Sr. and her brother Harry Davis, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dexter Langley, her daughter, Julie Langley and her son, Kevin Langley.
Gail was an active member of Kenly Methodist Church and served a variety of roles in the church over the years. She was strong in faith and loved her church family. Gail also was a business administration high school teacher but spent most of her career at Clayton Middle School up to her retirement in 2013.
She was a very bright, witty, caring, honest, resilient, and fun-loving person. She loved her family, flowers, cats, Elvis, traveling, attending plays, and watching sports. She could converse with anyone and quickly make a lasting impression with her kindness. She was the glue that held the family together and was the peacemaker.
She would always say, “Blessed be the peacemaker…” (Matthew 5:9)
May she now be at peace.
A funeral service celebrating Gail’s life will be held at Kenly Methodist Church, 201 E. 2nd Street Kenly, NC 27542 at 2:00 pm on Wednesday March 26th with the Rev. Paul Dunham officiating. There will be a time of receiving friends 1 hour prior. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 US Highway 70 W., Princeton, NC 27569.
Flowers are welcome, but also memorials may be made to Kenly Methodist Church.
