Nicky Ray Foyles, 72, of La Grange, NC, passed away on March 16, 2025, in his beloved Chicken Shack, surrounded by his family. Born on September 24, 1952, he was the devoted husband of Jennifer Hart Foyles for 54 years. They were married on October 17, 1970, and together built a life filled with love, family, and hard work.
He honorably served in the military for six years, dedicating himself to the values of hard work, discipline, and service to his country. During this time, he built strong friendships and gained experiences that shaped his steadfast character. After completing his service, he returned to La Grange to pursue his passion for carpentry. He loved using his hands to create and build with skill and precision. Nicky continued his dedication to helping others by becoming a volunteer firefighter, serving the La Grange community with the same courage and commitment.
Nicky never met a stranger. His warmth, generosity, and quick wit made everyone feel like family. He had a deep love for his farm, where he found joy in working the land and caring for his animals. Whether it was his horses, dogs, chickens, or anything else he could add to the farm, Nicky took great pride in tending to them.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Jennifer Nicole Foyles Fulcher (husband: Steven Fulcher) and Kent Walker Foyles, all of La Grange, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Howard Foyles (Barbara) of Kinston, NC; his sister, Teresa Foyles Stroud of Snow Hill, NC; sisters-in-law, Wanda Hart Olschner, Rose Foyles, and Jeannie Foyles; as well as a brother-in-law, Ray Hart, all of Kinston; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James “Jim” Berry Foyles; his mother, Gladys Merle Corbett; his brothers, James “Buck” Foyles, Nelson Foyles, and Jeffery Foyles; and his in-laws Buren & Rose Wiggins Hart.
A graveside service will be held at his farm at 4484 Norbert Hill Road, La Grange, NC, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., with visitation to follow.
