GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Wayne Community College’s Office of Communications has earned national recognition, bringing home a silver Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for their innovative “Bison Bulletin” e-newsletter.
Presented at NCMPR’s 2025 national conference in New Orleans, the Paragon Awards spotlight excellence in design and communication among two-year colleges. This year, nearly 1,570 entries from 205 colleges across the country competed in 47 categories.
“This national recognition is a huge honor,” said Ken Jones, WCC’s Director of Communications. “The Bison Bulletin was a first-of-its-kind project for us, and our team worked hard to create something both informative and engaging for our students.”
The newsletter is part of WCC’s ongoing effort to enhance communication and awareness across campus, showcasing important updates, events, and resources in an accessible digital format.
The award-winning team includes Ken Jones, Jessica Meadows, Bilma Iniguez, Charles Gerlach, Madelyn Luethje, and Meredith Futrelle—all recognized for their creativity and dedication to student-centered communication.
