April 5, 2025, 85, Goldsboro —

Robert “Bob” Escar Midkiff, Jr. passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Goldsboro Rehab Center.  He was born in Cartersville, VA. To the late Robert Escar Midkiff, Sr and Virgie Davis Midkiff.  He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Cartersville Baptist Church in Cartersville, VA, the Wayne County Wildlife Club, American Legion Post 11, and a graduate of St. Leo College.

A service to Celebrate Robert’s life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday April 13, 2025, in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, Rev. David Pate will officiate.  Interment will follow with Full military honors in Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 – 1:45.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Midkiff (Susie), Robin Midkiff Carver; brother, Steve Midkiff (Charlotte); sister, Susie Dodson (De); granddaughter, Amanda Carver Whitehurst (Matthew); great grandson, Connor Banks Whitehurst. Also surviving are his “Adopted” family Jimmy and Jackie Jones and their daughters Shelby & Emily, also Ashley Payret

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Louise Conway Midkiff.
