Statewide, NC — Spring is in the air and so is the call to action for a cleaner North Carolina! This Saturday, April 12, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) kicks off its Spring Litter Sweep for another year, summoning volunteers from across the state to roll up their sleeves and help pick up roadside litter.
April 12 to April 26 is when the volunteers need to pick up trash along North Carolina highways, streets, and roads. It’s a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your community and make the state look lovely during warmer weather.
If you would like to participate, it is easy! Simply go to ncdot.gov/littersweep to link up with your local litter program coordinator and register. NCDOT will supply all of the cleanup equipment—including orange safety vests, gloves, and trash bags—which can be picked up at local NCDOT County Maintenance Yard Offices.
So gather your family, friends, or co-workers and make a positive impact in your community this spring. Together, we can make North Carolina cleaner and greener!
