Goldsboro, NC — The Goldsboro Golden K Kiwanis Club will have a special guest speaker at their next meeting, on Tuesday, April 22. Members will meet at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the Daniels Chapel, 2802 East Ash Street.
The guest speaker this week is Garrett Pontious of Holly Ridge Farms, a well-known regional farm with its origins in Grantham. Pontious will be speaking about the most current farming techniques, why it’s important to eat locally, and what has led his family farm to its success.
The meeting presents Kiwanis members and guests with a unique opportunity to encounter one of Wayne County’s newest voices in sustainable agriculture, and to learn more about the issues and innovations that will shape the future of eastern North Carolina farming.
