John Wayne Peele, 76, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born in Wayne County on May 5, 1948, he was son to the late Ernest Peele and Sadie Evans Peele.

A graveside service to honor John’s life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Barry Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

John is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Smith Peele and his daughter, Elizabeth Mumpower and her husband, Kesley.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Buck and David Peele.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s honor to, Wayne County Services on Aging, P.O. Box 227, Goldsboro, NC, 27533.
