ROCKY MOUNT, NC — Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) will host a special ceremony on Saturday, April 19, 2025, to recognize the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition at his Rocky Mount District Office. The event will begin at 9:00 AM and will showcase the creative talents of high school students from across North Carolina’s First Congressional District.
More than 30 student artworks were submitted for this year’s competition, representing a broad range of styles and mediums. Participants hail from across the district, including Bertie, Hertford, Edgecombe, Nash, Greene, Martin, Chowan, Halifax, Northampton, Pasquotank, Vance, and Warren counties.
During the ceremony, winners will be formally announced. The first-place artwork will be sent to Washington, D.C., where it will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside winning entries from across the country.
The event is open to the press and will offer opportunities for interviews with Congressman Davis and participating students. It will take place at the Rocky Mount District Office, located in Rocky Mount Mills at 1151 Falls Road, Suite 2002, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
