Rodolph Orlando Garner

Rodolph Orlando Garner

April 17, 2025, 66, Goldsboro —

Rodolph Orlando Garner was born on April 19, 1958 to the late Rodolph (Rudy) and Juanita(Nell) Kornegay Garner. He was the baby of four siblings: Susie Gray (Sue-deceased), Josephine (Phine-Goldsboro NC), and Ray Charles (Jim Dandy-deceased).

He attended Duplin County Public Schools and graduated from East Duplin High School (Beulaville, NC) in 1976. He followed in his father’s footsteps joining the US Army where he served in Germany from 1979 until 1982 with an honorable discharge.

He had a love for animals, a favorite was horses, with his physical therapy duo, Olivia and Jessica, bringing him pictures and a couple of stuffed horses while in the hospital.

Pee Wee grew up doing farm work, tree removal, working at AP Parts, and finally driving tractor-trailers, which he thought he was pretty good at doing. He started driving for his brother-in-law (Two Shoe Trucking) and other businesses hauling corn, tobacco, and liquid nitrogen to Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, South Carolina, and Georgia.  He had a quiet and mild spirit with an infectious smile so that some who knew him called him “smiley”.

Among the things he loved to do was fishing, bowling, riding motorcycles, and shooting pool with his buddies at the Senior Center or as he would say…at Peggy’s.

He will be missed and remembered by family-his sister, neices and nephews, great neices and great nephews, relatives, friends, and acquaintances he met along his path of life.

A memorial talk will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will greet friends following the service.
