Elizabeth Radford Howell, 97, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 6, 1927, in Greene County, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Eddie and Maggie Radford. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm Howell; infant son, Walter Howell; sisters, Hazel Ham, Lois Newsome, and Mahala Wiggins; and brothers, Burgess Radford and Russell Radford.
Elizabeth was a dedicated and respected member of the Dixie Chemical team, known for her integrity, diligence, and quiet strength. A woman of deep faith, she was a long-time member of Antioch Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully for many years as church secretary. Elizabeth generously shared her gifts and talents in service to others, leaving a lasting impact on the church community she so dearly loved.
Above all, Elizabeth was devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Sheree Pierce and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Carla Pierce and husband, Timothy Marine, and Chris Pierce; sister, Joyce Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply.
Her life was a beautiful example of grace, kindness, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, warmth, and compassion that will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Seymour Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A graveside service celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor K.L. Buffaloe officiating.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Gentiva Hospice, especially Angela Lizak, Lauren Maurer and Carol Warren. Love and heartfelt thanks is also expressed to her caregivers and friends, Bee Davis, Doris Darden, Sheila Small, Brittany Drew, Pam Smalls, Pam Hill, Dianne Stafford and Jamisha Edwards. We will always be grateful for their kindness, support and loving care.
