William Bartus “Bill” Jackson, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston. Born in Izard County, Arkansas on February 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Manley and Arie Wallace Jackson.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Pine Forest Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the Pine Forest Methodist Men group. Bill was also a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 and the Wilmington Scottish Rite.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, with Pastor Tabitha Pate, officiating. At other times the family will be at the home of his daughter, Amelia Humphrey.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Evans Jackson and siblings, Lehman Jackson, Pauline Hill, Retha O’Neal, Doris Jackson, and Marvin Jackson.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Amelia Humphrey; son, David Jackson and wife, Jeannie; grandchildren, Heather J. Phillips and husband, Jamie, Joshua Jackson and wife, Bliss, Mary Katherine H. Gurganus and husband, Blake, Kourtney Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Hunter Sasser, Shelby Phillips, Paris Jackson, Dallas Jackson, Easton Jackson and Tate Gurganus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Forest Church, 867 NC 581 S, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
