Mount Olive, N.C. — The streets of downtown Mount Olive were buzzing with energy Friday night as the North Carolina Pickle Festival officially kicked off, bringing together locals and visitors for a lively evening of food, music, and family-friendly fun.

As vendors arrived throughout the evening to set up their booths, festival goers were already enjoying the action across town. Near the Mount Olive Public Library, Tri-County Electric employees rolled up their sleeves to serve hot dogs, French fries, and sweet treats to hungry attendees.

Just across the street, kids were laughing and playing as they enjoyed the carnival rides that lined the downtown area. The sounds of excitement blended with music and chatter, setting the tone for a weekend full of celebration.

Over at Westbrook Park, runners laced up their shoes for the annual Cuke Patch 5K. The race began at 8 p.m., drawing athletes and casual joggers alike who were eager to hit the pavement as part of the festival’s fitness-focused events.

Meanwhile, at R&R Brewing, the party was in full swing as local band Spare Change took the stage. Crowds gathered to enjoy live music, good company, and a festive atmosphere that carried the spirit of the Pickle Festival well into the night.
