James Edward Ballance, 74, of Pikeville passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Mount Olive Rehabilitation Center.

 

At this time, no formal service will be held.

 

Mr. Ballance was born in Wayne County on October 17, 1950. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War. In his free time, he loved to build grills, tinker in his garage and go fishing.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Terrie Ballance; one son, Jamie Ballance (Tracy Pearce) of Louisburg, North Carolina; one brother, Steve Ballance of Fremont; sister-in-law, Frances Ballance of Fremont; one grandson, Joshua Wade Ballance and his beloved fur baby, Angel.

 

He was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Ballance.

 

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
