Evan Hall Earns Elite 23 Award at Conference Carolinas Track & Field Championship

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. (April 28) – University of Mount Olive sophomore Evan Hall was honored with the prestigious Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Award during the league’s men’s track & field championship, held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Hall, a mathematics major from Apex, North Carolina, maintains an impressive 3.92 grade-point average and becomes only the second men’s track & field athlete in UMO history to receive this academic distinction. The Elite 23 Award recognizes the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the championship site, mirroring the NCAA’s Elite 90 Award selection process used across all three divisions.

In addition to his academic achievement, Hall competed in two events at the championship meet. He secured a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:55.30 and earning five points for the Trojans in the team standings.

The Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Award celebrates excellence both in the classroom and in athletic competition, and Hall’s recognition highlights the balance of academic and athletic success at the University of Mount Olive.
