April 21, 2025, 73, Goldsboro —
La Grange-Joseph Arnold “Joe” Price, 73, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. Joe was born in Lenoir County to the late Foye and Margaret Ellen Murphy Price on August 22, 1951. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Wade; brother, Bobby Price; and his father- and mother-in-law, Monk and Evelyn Rouse.
Starting his working life out as a farmer, Joe later took a position with Coca-Cola. Finding his true calling as an electrician, he began employment with Electricon, where he worked from 1973 until their closure in 1992. He continued employment with the LL Van company until his retirement in 2014. In his work, he tackled projects both simple and complex. He served as a superintendent for both companies for which he worked, as they recognized his great abilities. Faithfully serving his country, Joe also held a nine-year tenure in the National Guard from 1973-1982.
No matter the task, Joe had a gift for solving problems. He could fix anything that was broken. When presented with a challenge, he was even more ready to find a solution. Friends and family knew that Joe was the man to call when they needed a repair. There was never a doubt that he’d get it fixed.
An avid outdoorsman, Joe was happiest when he was in the woods, particularly when hunting for bear and deer. He was a proud member of the Riddickesville Hunting Club where he was a member for 30 years, as well as the Camp Peedee Hunting Club where he maintained membership for 20 years.
Those who knew Joe found in him a likeable, genuine friend. His love for family was beyond compare, and his devotion to them was as great as his love. His bond with his grandchildren was exceptional, as his love grew larger each time one was added to the clan. Trenton was his first buddy, Pailyn was his precious girl, and Brantlee was his faithful sidekick.
A memorial service to remember and honor Joe’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Hank Jarman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
