Kinston’s top cop says he is grateful for the community coming together to peacefully protest the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.  In a Facebook post, Kinston Police Chief Tim Dilday says “vile actions” led to Floyd’s death.  Dilday says the KPD pledges to serve the community, safeguard lives and property, and preserve order for all while respecting the constitutional rights of everyone to liberty, equality and justice.  Chief Dilday goes on to say the KPD will begin regular sessions throughout the community for citizens to meet police staff for real and honest communication.
