John Francis Coty, 82 of Dudley, passed away on Thursday at UNC Lenoir Healthcare. He is the son of the late Raymond O. and Mary W. Coty, and is the husband of Faye Smith Coty. Mr. Coty was a retired truck driver with Kemp Furniture and Billings Freight. He was a member of  Mar Mac Friends Church, and was a past fire chief for Mar Mac Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Coty was a wonderful person.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral home with Pastor Howard D. Seymour officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Greg Coty and fiancé Linda Fields of Goldsboro, Doug Coty and wife, Teresa of Black Creek, Lisa Parrish and husband, Randall of Pikeville, and Mitzi Huff and husband, Larry Jr. of Pikeville; brothers, Kenneth Coty of Wasilla, Alaska, Ray Coty and wife, Cathy of Altona, NY, Ernie Coty and wife, Joann of Kernersville, NY; sister, Joan Duke and husband, Harry of SC; sister in law, Yvonne Coty, Pawling, NY; 8 grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren..

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Gerald Coty
