There’s already a coronavirus scare at a Wayne County School. An email was sent to Meadow Lane Elementary School staff on Thursday informing them an individual on the campus had tested positive for COVID-19. The staff that were at risk for exposure from the individual were directly notified. All recommendations from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services are being followed.
WCPS has been and will continue following state guidance and working with local health officials in its response to COVID-19. The most current NCDHHS guidance and protocols can be found in the StrongSchoolsNC: Public Health Toolkit (K-12) and the Reference Guide for Suspected, Presumptive, or Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 (K-12).
