Lauren Marie Downing, age 11, passed away Wednesday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born in Wayne County, Lauren was a 6th grade student at Grantham Middle School and attended Love Memorial Baptist Church. She was loved by all.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Love Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park and the family will greet friends immediately following the committal at the cemetery.

Lauren is survived by her mother, Brenda Bryant; her father, Chris Downing and his wife, Tiffany; her sisters, Kayla Downing and Athena Downing; her grandmother, Cynthia Downing; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her many furry siblings; along with many adopted family.
