George William Schmidt, 80, of Goldsboro passed away peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life in New York in the Spring for family and close friends.

Mr. Schmidt was born in Rochester, New York on September 29, 1940 to the late George and Bernice Delorme Schmidt.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Schmidt; his children, Tammy Schmidt (Bart Delpapa), Susan (Victor) Hill, Jean (Jeremy) Bell and Alexander (Kristine) Schmidt; grandchildren, Michael (Imma) Schmidt and great-granddaughter, Caterina; Adrienne, Victor and Devin Hill, Brandon and Samantha King and Serenity and Steele Schmidt. Also Mr. Schmidt was survived by his siblings, Beverly (Bill) Roberts, Don Schmidt, Judy (Dennis) Delorm and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions in memory of George Schmidt can be directed to your local animal shelter in your area or to your local wildlife organization.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
