Every week, Saluting Seymour and SoundScope highlight an airman serving at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.
Airman 1st Class Sheila Peraza from the 4th Fighter Wing
Peraza has been in the Air Force about two years. She was born in Colorado and then she and her family moved to Wisconsin where she worked in a fitness center since she was a teen. Peraza now works in Seymour Johnson’s Fitness Center where she helps with day-to-day operations as well as planning base events. She says COVID-19 has impacted the events and activities at the fitness center. Peraza arrived in Goldsboro in June of 2019, but immediately deployed in October of 2019 and came back this past June. Peraza says she liked the transition from her small town home to Goldsboro. During her free time, Peraza likes to hike and she enjoys visiting the mountains and beach. Peraza says she’s excited about using the Air Force’s tuition assistance to go to go to law school.
SoundScope can be heard on Fridays at 5:44 AM and 6:44 AM on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 AM and 98.3 FM.
