Linwood Bryant Fields, age 78, passed away on Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was born in Goldsboro to the late Henry Bryant Fields and Ava Elizabeth Gooding Fields.
He enjoyed being outside and working with plants and helping to repair furniture from various flea markets and antique shops. He enjoyed collecting tools and loved to eat sweets, especially ice-cream. He had a green thumb and loved to watch things grow.
His family attends Calvary’s Cross Pentecostal Holiness Church in LaGrange.
A funeral service will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Friday at 2 PM with burial following at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Fields is survived by his brother, Herman Fields and wife, Gay and his nieces Lora Thompson and husband, Robert, and Angela Blandford and husband, Tripp, and Tonja DeRosa. He also had several nephews, Ricky Fields, Stan Fields, Robert Gooding, Billy Gooding and David Lee.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Gooding and Earl Fields.
