Early Sunday morning, Mount Olive firefighters and EMS Station 9 responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Pineland Avenue and U.S. 117 Alt. just north of the Mount Olive town limits. The call reported a possible ejection. As fire and EMS arrived, they found a silver car had run off the road and down a deep ditch. The subject was sitting in the ditch when the emergency responders arrived. He was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and charges are pending.
