The University of Mount Olive and Southeastern Community College have signed an important partnership agreement for southeastern NC. The agreement will enhance educational opportunities and facilitate a seamless transfer of graduates from SCC’s Agribusiness Technology program to UMO’s agricultural bachelor of science degree programs.
“This represents a key pathway for students to start at SCC and finish at UMO,” said UMO Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Todd Telemeco.
SCC President Dr. Chris English said, “We are very excited about this transfer agreement. It’s so important for our students as they look for next step transfer options after graduating from SCC.”
The University of Mount Olive has bachelor degree options in agribusiness, agricultural education, agricultural communications, agricultural productions systems, environmental and natural resources, plant science, animal science, and veterinary biosciences (pre-vet).
“There are numerous opportunities for students coming to UMO from SCC’s outstanding agribusiness technology program,” said UMO Dean of Agriculture and Biological Sciences Dr. Sandy Maddox said. “Agriculture is an economically impactful industry in Eastern North Carolina. At UMO, we pride ourselves in the fact that graduates from our ag programs have a job placement rate of 100% within six months of graduation.”
