September 10, 2021, 67, Mount Olive –
Gaynelle Price White, “Mom” went to Heaven Friday afternoon around 3:09. She had many health problems throughout her life but was never defined by them! If the struggles one faces on earth are an indicator of what one’s rewards will be in Heaven then she will be rich beyond means. Gaynelle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She alongside her husband instilled a work ethic and love for God in both of her sons.
Her “boys” recall the best life growing up, a simple life on a large farm with our mom there to guide us.
Gaynelle was always there with a drink and snack, and all the neighborhood kids who seemingly always gravitated to our house to play any type of sport or games you could imagine. Ms. Gaynelle would often times play referee to stop a heated disagreement over a touchdown or a run scored. She was always there to clean up the cuts and bruises that come along with 2 active boys. She was there to mend the broken hearts, for Cub Scout events, and to drive us to various sporting engagements. She gave encouragement and told us to always follow our hearts and use our intuition in making decisions in life. This has helped me on more than one occasion over the years.
While we will mourn the loss of her on this earth, let us all rejoice in knowing that she now walks with the angels above us in a place that our lord & savior has made for us.
Her immediate survivors include her husband, Michael White; sons, Michael Shawn White and wife, Kristin , of Atlantic Beach, and Nicholas Lee White and Jennefer Hawkins of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Kinsey, Jarrett, Beckett, and Brantley White, and Madison Blalock; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Stroud Thompson and husband, Roy, of Seven Springs, and Linda Carol Holmes of Kenansville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simpson and Maybelle Strickland Price; a brother-in-law, Roger Stroud; and her best friend, Mary Frances Carter.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 14, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Presiding will be Gary Harris and Steven Mercer. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be Wednesday, September 15, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery near Princeton. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro NC 27534.
